Red, White & Royal Blue fans rejoice! An adorable deleted scene has been released.
On 11 August, Prime Video finally dropped the highly anticipated LGBTQ+ romantic comedy starring Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine.
Based on Casey McQuiston’s acclaimed novel of the same name, Red, White & Royal Blue follows the passionate enemies-to-lovers romance between Alex (Zakhar Perez), the son of America’s first female president (Uma Thurman), and Henry (Galitzine), a British prince.
Upon its release, the film received universal acclaim for its faithfulness to the source material and the chemistry between Zakhar Perez and Galitzine.
The movie also earned a certified fresh rating of 77% on Rotten Tomatoes and secured the #1 spot on Prime Video’s global chart.
As a way to celebrate Red, White & Royal Blue’s continued success, the film’s director Matthew López released an adorable deleted scene of the two characters sharing a Cornetto treat in Kensington Palace.
At the start of the clip, which brings to life a fan favourite moment from the book, Alex is FaceTiming Nora (Rachel Hilson) about his dislike of Henry.
“It’s a disaster. Not even Meryl Streep can pretend to like Henry,” Alex exclaims while sitting at a kitchen table. “He’s just so insufferable.”
The moment gets awkward after Henry, who overheard the entire conversation, enters the room looking for a box of Cornettos.
“I was out, and I knew they’d have you stocked up,” Henry nonchalantly says after Alex accuses him of stealing food from guest quarters.
Towards the end of the clip, the two share a couple more witty exchanges before Alex grabs Henry’s hand to document their Cornetto bonding session – which results in a nervous look from the latter.

Shortly after the clip was released, fans took to social media to express their excitement over the popular scene.
One fan tweeted: “The way Henry’s face just screaming “oh my god I can’t believe I have such a huge crush on this uncultured american” lol.”
Another viewer wrote: “Ok we lost Henry looking sleepy in pjs but we GAINED Henry with unbuttoned sleeves rolled up to his elbows so we still WON.”
The release of the beloved Cornetto scene comes a few days after López told Us Weekly that he watched a three-hour version of the film during the editing process.
Lopez’s comments resulted in fans creating a change.org petition demanding the release of the fabled three-hour cut.
However in an additional interview with Teen Vogue, the award-winning playwright said that the situation “got out of hand” before admitting that “there was never a three-hour cut of the film”.
“The assembly of this film was about 2 hours and 45 minutes. But an assembly of a film, anyone who’s ever worked on a movie will tell you, an assembly is not a cut,” he explained.
Lopez went on to say that it was important for him to “correct everybody,” stating that there was “no way on God’s green earth” that fans should want or ever see the assembly of a film.
“I’m very happy that everybody got very excited to hear that, but we all got a little ahead of ourselves there,” he added.
Red, White & Royal Blue is now available to stream on Prime Video.
