GAY TIMES Honours 2022 sponsored by Meta Quest, our annual ceremony, returned for a sixth year to recognise individuals and organisations that have had a profound impact on the lives of the LGBTQ+ community over the past year. With 2022 marking 50 years since the very first Pride marches in the UK, we transported everyone 50 years to the explore the future of queer nightlife and community.
Hosted by Drag Race royalty Violet Chachki and Gottmik, GAY TIMES Honours was attended by stars such as Ashley Roberts, Bimini, Corinna Brown, David Koma, Dustin Lance Black, Elektra Fence, Ella Vaday, Harriet Rose, Jayde Adams, Jodie Harsh, Joel Dommett, Jonbers Blonde and Kate Gavin.
Deep breath for even more star power: Kitty Scott-Klaus, Kizzy Edgell, Lauren Rowles, Layton Williams, MNEK, Munroe Bergdorf, Nick Grimshaw, Oliver Sim, Pearl Mackie, Reece King, Tia Kofi, Tobie Donovan, Tom Daley, Vanity Milan, Yasmin Finney and Zane Phillips.
Fresh off the release of her acclaimed fifth album, Tove Lo delivered a show-stopping set with performances of her worldwide classic Talking Body and the fan-favourite Disco Tits, as well as new singles 2 Die 4 and No One Dies From Love. Cheltenham rapper Keanan performed a medley of tracks from his lauded new EP, Exhibit Green, while Cat Burns sang Free, People Pleaser and her UK best-seller Go.
Grag Queen, who memorably shot to global superstardom after conquering the first season of Queen of the Universe, took to the stage for a performance of Future Is Queer, the official anthem for GAY TIMES Honours 2022. The night also included sets from Cocoa Butter Club, queer Bollywood club night Hungama, Sadie Sinner – who performed tracks from Beyoncé’s Renaissance, assisted by aerial pole dancer Zaki Musa – and DJ sets from Princess Julia, Glitterbox Presents Joshua James and Glitterbox Presents The Shapeshifters.
Winners of GAY TIMES Honours 2022 include the cast of Heartstopper (On Screen Trailblazer), Tom Daley (Changemaker), Amir Ashour (International Community Trailblazer), London Trans+ Pride (Future Fighter), Cat Burns (Rising Star in Music), Grag Queen (Latin American Icon) and Tove Lo (International Excellence in Music).
