Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow shared a heartwarming statement about her trans son.
On 4 March, the reality TV veteran took to Instagram to open up about her son’s journey, who now goes by Ace.
“It’s International sons day! We love you, our youngest son, Ace,” she wrote.
“Our job as parents is to give our kids a safe and supportive environment so they can grow up as healthy, happy, confident, independent humans.”
Dubrow added that Ace would share his “own story someday if he chooses to do so.”
“All we can say is Ace, we love you so much, and we are proud to be your parents. Your brother and sisters love and support you, too,” she concluded.
The heartwarming post also included a photo of a local marina with Ace’s name written in the sand.
Shortly after revealing the news, fans swarmed the comment section with supportive messages for Dubrow and her son.
One person commented: “Ace is so lucky to have parents like you and the best support system.”
Another fan wrote: “So grateful you’re using your platform to show parents how unconditional love is done!!! All we’re supposed to do is love & guide them.”
In addition to fan support, Dubrow received heartfelt comments from her fellow Real Housewives stars like Alexis Bellino – who also has a trans son.
Ace’s inspiring coming-out announcement comes a few months after the reality TV star opened up her second daughter Kat coming out as a lesbian.
“Kat decided to drop in our family group text, ‘By the way, I’m a lesbian.’ I didn’t see it, and I was mad because the dogs pooped in the house, so I wrote back, ‘Who let the dogs poop in the house?’ It was a total mom fail, and they’ve never let me forget that,” she revealed to People magazine.
A year before Kat’s coming out announcement, her oldest daughter Max came out as bisexual.
“We’ve got four kids, they are different genders, different sexualities, and all at interesting places in their lives, figuring out who they are and where they belong as humans.”
