Chappell Roan, Beyoncé, Billie Eilish are among the LGBTQIA+ artists and allies that have scored major Grammy nominations.

Taking place 2 February at the Crypto.com Arena in LA, the 2025 ceremony has been dominated by Beyoncé (feels correct) and her trailblazing country-inspired album COWBOY CARTER.

With 11 noms, Beyoncé now boasts 99 career nominations and has, officially, surpassed her husband Jay-Z as the most nominated artist in the history of the Grammys.

To the surprise of none, she will once again compete for the coveted Album of the Year, where she faces strong opposition from Charli xcx, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Taylor Swift. If she wins, it will mark her first ever award in the category.

As for the aforementioned queer artists, Billie has landed seven nominations, making history in the process as the first ever artist to be nominated for Album of the Year with their first three albums.

With her acclaimed debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and breakout single ‘Good Luck, Babe!’, Chappell is now a Grammy Award-nominated artist. She’s up for six trophies, including Best New Artist.

GAY TIMES cover star Kehlani has three: Best R&B Song (‘After Hours’), Best Progressive R&B Album (CRASH) and Best Melodic Rap Performance (‘Kehlani REMIX’).

Additional LGBTQIA+ nominees include Troye Sivan for Best Dance Pop Recording (‘Got Me Started’), Doechii for Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance (‘Nissan Altima’) and Best Rap Album (Alligator Bites Never Heal), St Vincent for Best Rock Song (‘Broken Man’) and Best Alternative Music Album (All Born Screaming).

More incoming: Cardi B for Best Rap Performance (‘Enough (Miami)’), Green Day for Best Rock Album (Saviors), Best Rock Performance (‘The American Dream is Killing Me’), and Best Rock Song (‘Dilemma’), and Kaytranada for Best Dance/Electronic Recording (‘Witchy’), Best Dance/Electronic Album (Timeless) and Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical (‘Alter Ego’).

Ahead of her highly-anticipated seventh studio album, Lady Gaga has also scored two nominations for her and Bruno Mars’ global smasher, ‘Die With A Smile’, under Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

As for community favourites, Sabrina Carpenter has collected six for her breakout album Short ‘n’ Sweet and its two chart-topping singles, ‘Espresso’ and ‘Please Please Please’.

Following the domination of BRAT Summer, Charli has earned her best year yet at the Grammys with nine nominations, from Record of the Year (‘360’) to Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (‘Guess’ with Billie) and Best Pop Solo Performance (‘Apple’).

Ariana Grande’s comeback album, eternal sunshine, is up for three: Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (‘the boy is mine’ with Brandy and Monica) and Best Dance Pop Recording (‘yes, and?’).

British treasure RAYE has finally been recognised by the academy with three: Best New Artist, Songwriter Of The Year, Non-Classical and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical (Lucky Daye’s Algorithm).
