American icon Beyoncé called out “trans is beautiful” after noticing a pro-trans sign in her audience during a concert on 29 July.
The singer called out the phrase suspended above a crowd of over 80,000 people in the MetLife stadium in New York.
Trans actress Laverne Cox shared a clip of the moment on Instagram, reposting the clip from TikTok user @candacepersuasian.
The 51-year-old, who began the hashtag #TransIsBeautiful in 2015, expressed gratitude to Beyoncé for sharing this “trans-affirming message.”
Candace Persuasian, the activist holding up the sign, also thanked Beyoncé on Twitter and TikTok when sharing the clip.
