Kylie Minogue has shared new information on her dazzling duet with Madonna.
Back in March, the ‘Like A Virgin’ singer and ‘All The Lovers’ artist broke the internet when they shared the stage at the former’s Celebration Tour.
During the unforgettable moment, the pop music icons sang an acapella version of Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head‘ and a stripped-back rendition of Gloria Gaynor’s disco classic ‘I Will Survive’.
“This moment is a long time coming,“ Minogue exclaimed at the time.
The Aussie talent also wore a bedazzled black tank top that read “Madonna,“ which was a call back to Madge wearing a “Kylie” shirt at the 2000 MTV Europe Music Awards.
While fans are still waiting for an official collaboration between the two pop juggernauts, Minogue recently shared some exciting behind-the-scenes tea about their duet on The One Show.
“For a 14-year-old me, just the jaw – I mean, can’t get to take it off the floor. It came about really organically,“ she revealed.
The Grammy-winning artist went on to say that Madonna’s manager, whom she has known for years, reached out to make the pop culture moment happen.

“I just presumed when I was asked to join her on stage it would be her Vogue section, where she has different guests every night that holds up the card. Like 10 out of 10. But no, it was to do a cover of ‘I Will Survive,‘” she continued.
“And her reasoning for that was twofold – one which she sadly lost her mother to breast cancer, and she knew about some of my story, and also just being two women who survived in the industry, and so it was just really amazing moment.”
Toward the end of her statement, Minogue revealed that some of her friends have still not forgiven her for keeping her Madonna collab a secret.
“I may have lost some friends, but I did get to sing with Madonna,” she joked.
A month before her Celebration World Tour appearance, Minogue expressed an interest in working with Madonna while speaking with E! News.
“How is Earth still spinning when this hasn’t happened?“ she exclaimed before admitting that she and the ‘Ray Of Light’ singer have spoken about the idea in the past. “We would both love it. I know I would, and she’s mentioned it before. So, hey! Maybe.”
Here’s hoping that Madonna and Kylie will team up for a song or two in the near future.
