Pop superstar Troye Sivan has earned his first number-one album on the Australian charts.

On 13 October, fans of the ‘Bloom’ singer were finally treated to his highly anticipated third album, Something to Give Each Other.

Made up of 10 immersive pop tracks – including his hit singles ‘Rush’ and ‘Got Me Started’ – the record is described as a celebration of “sex, dance, sweat, community, queerness, love, and friendship.”

Since its release, the album has received universal praise from fans and critics for its unapologetically queer lyrical content, outstanding pop production and Sivan’s vocals.

One fan wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Something to Give Each Other kinda slowly moving into my top 3 albums of the year.”

Another fan posted: “Kinda insane how no album in the history of the world will ever top this.”

Due to its continued popularity amongst music listeners, the album has achieved incredible commercial feats.

On 20 October, the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) announced that Sivan earned his first number-one album on the long-running chart with Something to Give Each Other, beating out Drake’s album For All the Dogs.

In a statement, ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd congratulated Sivan for the incredible achievement and for breaking music boundaries.

“Troye Sivan is truly a once-in-a-generation artist, representing Australia on a truly global scale, with 22 billion streams worldwide and a career that’s pushed boundaries across music, screen and fashion,” she said.

“On behalf of ARIA, I am absolutely thrilled to congratulate him on his first #1 album at home, and can’t wait to celebrate at the ARIA Awards in a few weeks.”

Shortly after the news made headlines, Sivan took to his Instagram story to share a screenshot of the announcement, with the caption: “The gay agenda.”

Alongside securing the number one spot on the ARIA charts, the Something To Give Each Other album has delivered countless iconic moments, including his dragtastic music video for his track ‘One Of Your Girls.’

Channelling the likes of Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, the Aussie talent delivered jaw-dropping dance routines and sickening outfits. He also straddled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina hunk Ross Lynch during a sensual lap dance. An icon, we say!
