And Just Like That showrunner Michael Patrick King has spilled on Sam Smith’s cameo in the show’s second season after pictures of them on set leaked during filming.
The upcoming instalment of the Sex and the City spinoff will once again follow Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davies) as they navigate life and love.
John Corbett will return in the role of Carrie’s past love Aidan Shaw, with the rest of the cast rounded out by Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg and Evan Handler.
The new season will also feature an array of additional stars, including Candice Bergen who played Carrie’s Vogue editor Enid Frick in the original show, Entertainment Weekly revealed.

“She is a cold, wonderful diva of publishing,” King told the outlet.
He also teased other “heavy-hitter performers” guest-starring in And Just Like That’s second season, among them famous feminist Gloria Steinem – who will be playing herself.
King then revealed more details about Sam Smith’s appearance in the show after the Unholy singer was previously spotted filming an unknown role, which we now know will see them play themself.

“Two days after they won the Grammy, they’re on our show with a Carrie necklace that says ‘Sam.’ They said they and their sisters all have them,” King states. “That is the gold of having done a show that people liked: you call Sam Smith to play this nice part that we needed, and they’re like, ‘Yes, cause I love the show.’ That’s really thrilling.”
Beyond that, King kept quiet – though did share that there will be “a couple of surprises every now and then” in terms of other guest appearances.
