Attention Doctor Who fans! A new exciting trailer for the 60th anniversary specials has arrived.
In November, TV viewers will finally be treated to the highly anticipated event – which will take place across three episodes.
This time around, David Tennant will be reprising his role as Time Lord for another adventure with his former companion Donna Noble (played by Catherine Tate).
The specials will also feature an array of new faces, including Heartstopper’s Yasmin Finney as Donna’s daughter Rose and Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker.
Over the last year, fans have patiently waited for more information about the new batch of episodes and the peril that awaits our beloved Time Lord.
Fortunately, on 23 September, the BBC released an official trailer for the specials, jam-packed with new and exciting scenes.
At the start of the preview, Donna admits to feeling like something is missing from her life.
“Sometimes I feel like there is something missing. Like I had something lovely, and it’s gone,” she wonders. “I lie in bed thinking, ‘What have I lost?”
The trailer then transitions to Tennant’s 14th Doctor running around London before he bumps into Donna on the street – which isn’t the best scenario for the latter’s future.
“There was this friend called Donna Noble. I had to wipe her memory to save her life. If she remembers me, she will die. So what happens next? A space crashes right in front of her. It’s like she’s drawing us in,” the Time Lord explains to an unidentified character (played by Rachel Madeley).
As the video progresses, Donna and Rose (Finney) encounter a Meep hiding out in their home, resulting in a hilarious reaction from the former.

However, the wholesome moment is interrupted when a group of aliens start attacking their home – resulting in the Doctor coming to save the day.
“I don’t believe in destiny but if destiny exists, then it is heading for Donna Noble,” the Time Lord adds.
Things take a sinister turn when our heroes encounter the Toymaker, who appears to have a complicated history with the Doctor.
As the trailer winds down, action-packed scenes flash across the screen before an emotional Doctor tells Donna: “I don’t know if I can save your life this time.”
However, one of the teaser’s biggest reveals was the brief appearance of Ncuti Gatwa’s 15th Doctor – who’s set to embark on his own adventure after the conclusion of the aforementioned specials.
In response to the intense trailer, fans took to social media to express their excitement for the new specials.
One fan wrote on X: “This is the first time in YEARS I’ve seen the fandom so united in love for something. Even my housemate who doesn’t like Doctor Who said it looked awesome. This really was one of the best trailers for this show EVER. The second RTD era begins now.”
Another user commented: “That trailer, the storyline. It looks like a fcking damn masterpiece and I get my favorite Doctor back!”
Fortunately fans won’t have to wait too long for new specials, with the first one set to premiere in November.
