Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne has opened up about her Dancing On Ice experience in a new interview.
Back in October, the 30-year-old star announced that she would be the first drag artist to compete in the popular TV series.
“Excited to announce that I will be competing in Dancing on Ice in 2023! A dream come true,” she wrote on Twitter.
“To be the first drag artist to take part in one of the big UK reality competition shows is truly an honour. I think it’s a big step forward for queer representation on TV.”
Since revealing the exciting news, The Vivienne has remained an open book regarding her preparation for her highly anticipated ice skating debut.
During a recent interview with Lorraine Kelly, the Welsh queen spilt all the tea on her training hacks and how she avoids injuries.
“I’m quite lucky because when I’m skating in drag underneath all this, there’s three inches of foam on each side of my hips to give me the illusion of Jessica Rabbit. So if I fall, I bounce straight back up,” she revealed.
The Vivienne also referred to her wig as a “crash helmet” before joking that the other competing celebs were “jealous” of her extra protection.

Towards the end of her interview, the All Stars 7 finalist gushed about her overall experience and her newfound appreciation for the challenging sport.
“This is one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever done. I never thought that – I started doing drag at 16, I thought ‘that’s my lane,’ that’s what I’m gonna be doing for the rest of my life,” she explained.
“I’ve been skating for three months, and I’m thinking when this show ends, I wanna make skating part of my life.”
“I’m gonna fight for a drag on ice tour, because I wanna continue doing this. Can you imagine at Christmas? All the rinks, all the drag queens, all the gorgeous men. Fab!”
The Vivienne’s latest interview comes a few weeks after her partner, Colin Grafton, expressed his excitement over their herstory making partnership in a heartfelt Instagram post.
“So very beyond excited to be making some skating HISTORY with my INCREDIBLE partner, The Vivienne,” he wrote on 5 January.
“We’ve really been working hard and hope we can bring some joy to all the viewers at home.
“Also, VERY lucky to be a part of an outstanding cast, crew, and team of everyone part of this wonderful series!”
The Vivienne is set to make her Dancing On Ice debut on 22 January on ITV.
