Drag Race star Trixie Mattel is set to expand her home improvement empire with a brand-new series on HGTV.
Back in 2022, the beloved drag talent released her acclaimed limited series, Trixie Motel.
The eight-part show, which aired on Discovery+, followed Trixie as she and her partner, David Silver, renovated a motel in Palm Springs with the help of their celebrity friends.
Upon its release, the show became a massive hit with TV viewers, who praised the Drag Race alum for bringing campy hijinks to the home renovation TV genre.
A year after the show’s premiere, David teased that he and Trixie were working hard on new Trixie Motel episodes in an Instagram post, writing: “And we’re back #TMseason2.”
While the home-improvement pair refrained from sharing additional details at the time, Warner Brothers recently announced new information about the forthcoming series, including its new title and network.
According to a press release, the second season is titled Trixie Motel: Drag Me Home and will air on HGTV versus Discovery+.
The synopsis reads: “Pushing the envelope during their first year as motel mavens, the couple will take the leap into home ownership and cohabitation with the purchase of their dream home in Los Angeles, but it will need some revamping to make it fit for a queen.”
In a statement, Loren Ruch, Head of Content at HGTV, gave further insight into the highly anticipated series.

“Trixie Motel quickly became a fan favourite program tapping into the outrageous vision that Trixie and David brought to life while also showing the sweet dynamic of their real-life relationship,” she said.
“Now we’ll get to check in on the couple’s progress as motel proprietors and watch them navigate the highs and lows of a personal renovation project while moving in together for the first time.”
Shortly after the news was announced, Trixie took to Instagram to express her excitement, writing: “We’re back in renovation mode!”
Fans also celebrated the series in the ‘Malibu’ singer’s comment section, with many praising her for having a show on HGTV.
One fan wrote: “This is actually huge, idk what I’ll do when my parents are watching HGTV after church and this comes on.”
Another person commented: “This is a big day for trixie… but it’s also a big day for HGTV and david!”
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until summer 2024 for the return of Trixie, David and their home improvement shenanigans.
