Rejoice Harley Quinn fans! The HBO Max hit series has been renewed for a fourth season.

For the last two years, comic book fans have immersed themselves in the anti-hero’s violent yet hilarious quest for supervillain stardom.

While the series has been lauded for its comical storylines, it has also been praised for establishing Harley and Ivy’s popular romance.

After a series of “will they won’t they” moments, the pair cemented their romantic relationship in the season two finale.

Fortunately for fans, Harley and Ivy’s adventures on the popular streamer show no signs of slowing down.

On 31 August, HBO Max announced that the two supervillains would be back for a fourth season ahead of the show’s upcoming season three finale.

Alongside its renewal, the series’ current showrunners, Justin Halpen and Patrick Schumacker, will be replaced by Sarah Peters for the new batch of episodes (per Deadline).

Prior to landing the role, Peters served as a writer and consulting producer for the beloved animated comedy.

Shortly after the news made headlines, Halpern and Shucmacker expressed their excitement for the new season in a statement.

“We are ecstatic that HBO Max wants the story of Harley and Ivy to continue,” they said.

“And we are equally thrilled that this next season will be in great hands with Sarah Peters as our showrunner and Ceci Aranovich overseeing animation production, as they have both greatly influenced the show with their brilliance since the beginning.”

HBO Max’s SVP of Comedy & Animation, Billy Wee, echoed similar sentiments in his own statement.

“Patrick Schumacker, Justin Halpern and their incredible team of artists and writers have created something so explosively funny and original, and we are thrilled to continue this journey with them and the show’s legion of fans,” Wee said.

“It has been amazing to watch the show grow and evolve this season and we could not ask for a more talented and dedicated team of collaborators.”

Warner Bros. EVP of Alternative Programming Peter Girardi added: “Three seasons down and I can’t even begin to think about the new levels of chaos and trouble that Harley, Ivy and the gang can get into with a fourth season.

“But I’m grateful to our partners at HBO Max for continuing this insane ride with us so we can all find out.”

The third season of Harley Quinn, which premiered on 28 July, picked up where the action-packed season two finale left off.

With Harley (Kaley Cuoco) and Ivy (Lake Bell) back from their epic “Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour”, the dynamic duo set their sights on becoming better people and reshaping the perpetually troubled Gotham City as their own Eden paradise.

Clayface (Alan Tudyk), King Shark (Ron Funches) Doctor Psycho (Tony Hale) and Frank the Plant (JB Smoove) also make a return with their own set of hilarious storylines.

You can watch all three seasons of Harley Quinn on HBO Max.
