Gen V fans rejoice! The supes in training are set to come back for another season.
Back in September, TV viewers were finally treated to the highly anticipated spin-off of Prime Video’s The Boys, which is set at the same time as the latter’s upcoming fourth season.
Unlike its predecessor, the show follows Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) a hemokinetic and a group of other aspiring heroes as they attend the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting.
Lizzie Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Sheley Conn and Chance Perdomo also star in the series.
Since its premiere, Gen V has received universal acclaim from fans and critics, with many praising the series for its “dark and twisty” storylines and comedic yet pointed commentary on societal topics.
The show has also been lauded for its LGBTQIA+ representation, which includes the dynamic romantic relationship between Marie and Jordan Li (Thor and Luh) – a non-binary character with the power to gender-shift.
While Gen V has become an instant hit, viewers have anxiously waited for news regarding a renewal – especially with the alarming trend of streamers cancelling hit shows after one season.
Fortunately on 19 October, Amazon announced that the series would, in fact, be returning for a second term ahead of its upcoming season finale.

In a statement, showrunner Michele Fazekas and executive producer Eric Kripke expressed their excitement for the renewal while also teasing what’s set to come.
“We couldn’t be happier to make a second season of Gen V. These are characters and stories we’ve grown to love, and we are thrilled to know people feel the same,” they said, per Entertainment Weekly.
“The writers are already working on the new season – sophomore year is gonna be wild, with all the twists, heart, satire, and exploding genitalia you’ve come to expect from the show.”
Head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, Vernon Sanders, echoed similar sentiments, stating: “Expanding the universe of The Boys with a series as bold as Gen V has been an incredible journey for us and our wonderful partners at Sony.
“Gen V is Prime Video’s most acquisitive new Original series of 2023, and we’re excited that our incredible cast and crew are going to continue telling brave and bold stories from Gen V to our customers.”
Shortly after announcing the news, fans flocked to social media to celebrate Gen V’s upcoming season.
One viewer wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Amazing news, I’ve loved every episode so far. Great way to expand this universe.”
Another fan posted: “GEN V RENEWED FOR A SEASON 2?!! HAPPY DAYS.”
Gen V season one is set to conclude on 3 November.
