Attention Heartstopper fans! The third season has finally wrapped up production.
Netflix confirmed the news on 15 December with a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“And that is officially a wrap on Heartstopper Season 3,” the caption read alongside a photo of creator Alice Oseman, Kit Connor and Joe Locke on set with a clapperboard.
As of this writing, a release date has yet to be confirmed, but if it follows the same pattern as the first two seasons, which launched in April 2022 and August 2023, fans should be treated to season three next year.
In addition to Netflix, Oseman took to Instagram with their own post, giving further insight into the final day of production.
“Heartstopper S3 is wrapping TODAY! We have a few more hours of our final day to get through, but I wanted to express how deeply grateful I am to the cast and crew for their hard work, dedication, skill and endurance over the past 11 weeks, and for once again bringing a season of Heartstopper to life,” they wrote.
Towards the end of their heartwarming post, the Solitare author teased what fans can expect from the new batch of episodes.
“Season 3 takes Heartstopper into uncharted territory, and it presented a range of new challenges for our cast and crew, but everyone did the most incredible job, and I am so excited to share what we’ve all been working on. Now, back to our final shooting day of this season.”

Locke and Connor echoed similar sentiments, with the two young talents celebrating the end of production on their respective Instagram stories.
“Can you see how tired we all are? S3 is the best yet tho so worth it,” Locke wrote alongside Oseman’s post.
As for Connor, the One of Us star uploaded two snapshots, one of a tranquil beachfront and another of him in a hair and makeup trailer.
“That’s a wrap. Thank you x,” his caption read.
The recent Heartstopper news comes a few days after Oseman revealed that season three would adapt volume four and volume five of the graphic novel.
“I think most people have figured this out by this point, but season 3 will be Vols 4 and 5 and the This Winter novella. If we get a season 4, it would be Vol 6 and the Nick and Charlie novella,” they explained in a Tumblr on 10 December.
“I also know that people have some concerns about this! Others may see it differently, which is totally fine, but for me, Vols 4 and 5 have a central thread running through them both: Charlie’s mental health journey. If you think about the start of Vol 4, and the end of Vol 5, hopefully you can see that we’ve grouped them together for a thematic reason.”
