Netflix has released new Heartstopper season three content, and fans (including us) are in their feels.

On 15 September, the popular streamer surprised fans when they dropped an emotional Tara (Corinna Brown) and Darcy (Kizzy Edgell) scene from the new batch of episodes.

In the brief clip, the two lovebirds have a serious conversation about personal space.

“Maybe you should try living with your gran. You might have more space if you lived with her,” Tara suggests.

In response, Darcy assures her girlfriend that she doesn’t need more space, adding: “I live with my dream girlfriend.”

Towards the end of the clip, Tara reiterates her love for Darcy before expressing the need to incorporate their individual needs into their relationship.

“I love you so, so, so much. And I love being near you. I love waking up with you and I love spending every day with you. But I think we need some personal space, too,” she earnestly explains.

Since the teaser’s release, fans have flocked to social media to express excitement over the heartwarming clip.

One fan wrote: “IM NOT READY FOR S3 AT ALL HOLY SHIT.”

Another viewer in Netflix’s Instagram comment section wrote: “It should be illegal to drop this kind of content randomly without any warning!”

A third fan added: “This is SO important oh my god wow just am absolutely amazed.”

Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long for the Heartstopper gang’s return, with season three set to drop on 3 October.

Picking up where season two left off, the new batch of episodes will follow Charlie (Joe Locke) as he tries to “tell Nick that he loves him,” while Nick (Kit Connor) “also has something important to say to Charlie”.

The synopsis adds: “As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realise that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges.

“As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go to plan.”

In addition to the aforementioned cast members, Yasmin Finney (Elle), Will Gao (Tao), Tobie Donovan (Isaac), Jenny Walser (Tori), Cormac Hyde-Corrin (Harry), Fisayo Akinade (Nathan), Chetna Pandya (Coach Singh), Bradley Riches (James), and Bel Priestly (Naomi) will be reprising their respective roles.

Lastly, the season will feature a string of new characters, including Jonathan Bailey as Jack Maddox, Hayley Atwell as Aunt Diane, Eddie Marian as Geoff, Darragh Hand as Michael Holden, and Jensen Clayden as Charlie and Tori’s little cousin, Oliver Spring.

In a July interview with Entertainment WeeklyConnor spilt some tea about the forthcoming season, describing it as more “mature.”

“We’ve aged it up a little bit. It matures a little bit with the audience and as the characters grow up, you start to see them exploring more adult topics.”

Connor continued to tease: “It gets a bit hotter, raunchier. Yeah, it’s generally just a little bit mature but still the classic Heartstopper love.”
