American Horry Story fans rejoice! Ryan Murphy has finally revealed the title and premiere date for the upcoming 11th season.
Back in August, Digital Spy reported that the new instalment of the long-running anthology series was set to take place in the 1970s – with the story potentially revolving around the notorious Studio 54.
The news outlet also confirmed that Billie Lourd, Isaac Cole Powell, Charlie Carver, Patti LuPone, Sandra Bernhard, and Zachary Quinto would be feature players in the new season.
After a month of silence, Murphy and FX Network surprised fans on 29 September when they announced that season 11 would be titled AHS: NYC.
“New Season. New City. New Fears,” the show’s Twitter account wrote. “Succumb to your primal instincts.”
The horrifying announcement also included an array of teaser posters that featured models in all-black attire with thorn-embedded accessories.
One photo showcases a man wearing a studded BDSM-inspired mask with two large spikey antlers sprouting from the side.
Luckily for AHS fans, the wait for the 10-episode season won’t be too long.
The first two episodes are set to release on FX on 19 October, with two new episodes dropping every Wednesday following its premiere (per Entertainment Weekly).
Shortly after the announcement made headlines, AHS enthusiasts took to social media to express their excitement for the highly anticipated season.
One user wrote: “If Lady Gaga isn’t in the American Horror Story season titled New York City, then Ryan Murphy needs to be arrested for a hate crime.”
Another fan tweeted: “Can’t wait!!! Season 11 of American Horror Story!! Who else is psyched!?”
