Back in December 2021, fans of Sex and the City were finally treated to its highly anticipated sequel series, And Just Like That.
Picking up 11 years after the events of Sex and the City 2, the new batch of episodes follows Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristen Davis) as they navigate friendship, sexuality and unexpected life changes in their 50s.
The revival also introduced an array of new characters, including documentarian Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker), Columbia law professor Dr Nya Wallace (Karen Pittman), and real estate broker Seema Patel (Sarita Choudhury).
While the series received mixed reviews from critics upon its release, HBO Max renewed AJLT in March 2022.
“I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters – played by these powerful, amazing actors,” Michael Patrick King said in a statement. “The fact is, we’re all thrilled. And Just Like That… our Sex life is back.”
Over the last few months, new information has come out about the upcoming season – including the return of John Corbett as fan favourite character Aiden Shaw.
According to a report from Deadline, the My Big Fat Greek Wedding star is set to have a “substantial, multi-episode arc.”
While details on Corbett’s role have been kept under wraps, the show’s Instagram account has seemingly confirmed that Carrie and Aiden will be rekindling their romance in season two.
We can’t wait to see Smith make their acting debut.
