Lady Gaga praised Drag Race star Shangela after she delivered an electric performance of her hit track The Edge of Glory on Dancing with the Stars.
Back in September, the beloved talent made history as the first drag performer to compete in the US iteration of beloved dancing competition.
Over the last few weeks, Shangela and her partner Gleb Savchenko have captivated viewers with their showstopping routines ranging from the Quick Step, Salsa, Rumba, Foxtrot, Cha-cha-cha, Tango, Jazz, Samba and the Charleston.
On 14 November, the show’s highly anticipated semi-finals took place –which featured the We’re Here host performing an electric Paso Doble routine to Gaga’s chart-topping hit.
“The fact that we are able to perform to a Lady Gaga song is so special because she has always been supportive, kind and so generous with her love for me and I am so grateful for it. This is a full honour,” she told GLAAD ahead of the performance.
Like previous weeks, the beloved star delivered a showstopping performance, which resulted in her earning a score of 36 out of 40.
In response to the epic routine, fans flocked to social media to praise Shangela for another fantastic performance.
One person wrote: “The way Shangela is gonna win Dancing With The Stars.”
Another fan tweeted: “Shangela should get a perfect score for that paso doble. That was fire!!!!”

However, despite receiving praise from the judges and viewers, the Drag Race star landed in the bottom three.
Fortunately, Shangela received praise and support from Gaga herself, who encouraged fans to vote for her A Star is Born costar and friend.
“My friend [Shangela] just did an amazing dance to The Edge of Glory on the Dancing With The Stars semi-finals! Send her your love and vote now by texting SHANGELA to 21523 (10 times),” the Bad Romance star said via her Instagram story.
In the end, Shangela was named one of the four finalists that are set to take part in the show’s season finale.
When asked about Gaga’s Instagram post, the former All-Stars contestant told ET that she was “grateful” for mother monster’s support.
“It’s Lady Gaga, one of the world’s most talented and kindest entertainers and the fact that she would take time from her very busy schedule –because you know the doll ain’t sitting around just watching TV. She’s got things to do,” she explained.
“And the fact that she would show us love on Instagram in that way, I bow down to the Gaga, and I appreciate it because of the little monsters, I’m one of them.”
The season finale of Dancing with the Stars is set to take place on 21 November.
