Netflix has dropped a spooktacular behind-the-scenes look into Wednesday season two.

Back in January 2023, the popular streamer confirmed that the supernatural series would be returning for a second outing.

Since that fateful day, information regarding the new batch of episodes has been kept under wraps, much to fans’ disappointment.

However, on 19 September, Netflix treated fans to an exciting behind-the-scenes look into season two.

The teaser starts with exclusive footage featuring Wednesday (Jenna Ortega), Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday) and the Nevermore Academy before Luis Guzmán, as his character Gomez Addams, states: “Hello, my little storm cloud.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones, who plays Morticia Addams, then adds that season two will be “bigger and more twisted” while shots of Tim Burton and the various set pieces flash across the screen.

Towards the end of the first look teaser, Wednesday menacingly states: “If we show you any more, your eyes would bleed, and I’m not that generous.”

While the video did not reveal an exact premiere date, it confirmed that on Wednesday will return in 2025.

Shortly after its release, fans expressed excitement for the behind-the-scenes video on social media.

One fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, joked: “I don’t like it when my eyes bleed… show me more so I can “suffer.”

Another fan tweeted: “I don’t think I even have words to describe how excited I am.”

A third fan added: “Show me more!!! idc if my eyes would bleed! gimme wenclair.”

The fantasy drama first made waves with TV viewers when it dropped in November 2022.

In the show’s first season, Wednesday (Ortega) enrols in the mysterious Nevermore Academy – which was once attended by her parents, Morticia ( Zeta-Jones) and Gomez Addams (Guzmán).

As she tries to navigate her new surroundings, the unapologetic 16-year-old soon finds herself with psychic abilities and at the centre of a local murder investigation.

Following its premiere, the series earned praise from both critics and viewers for its angst-filled storylines and Ortega’s incredible portrayal of the titular character– for which she earned an Emmy nomination.

The series also broke an array of streaming records for Netflix and gained a dedicated LGBTQ+ fanbase – who shipped Wednesday with her optimistic werewolf roommate Enid Sinclair (Myers).

While we’ll have to wait a bit longer for Wednesday season two, we do know that the titular character will not have any romantic entanglements in the new episodes.

During a June 2023 conversation with Elle Fanning for Variety, the Scream 6 star revealed: “It’s still coming together, but we’ve decided we want to lean into the horror more. We’re ditching any romantic love interest, which is really great. We’re going to get bolder, more dark.”

The team behind Wednesday ‘graciously’ allowed Ortega to put her “producer hat on”: “This is my first time. It was a natural progression. With a character like Wednesday, who is so beloved, I didn’t want to get her wrong.

“So I tried to have as many conversations as possible with the writers. We’d decide what works and what doesn’t. In preparation for a second season, we wanted to make sure that we could start the conversations earlier.”

Stay tuned for more Wednesday season two updates.
