Disneyland Paris, Europe’s most visited attraction, has just celebrated its 30th anniversary. GAY TIMES recently visited the French outpost to see the most exciting developments in the resorts history.
With the first ever drone show performed daily in a Disney Park anywhere in the world, the return of the iconic Disney Dreams! nighttime spectacular, the fan-favourite show which brings guests on a journey alongside their favourite characters, and many other surprises, the Grand Finale of this incredible anniversary is a can’t-miss celebration. As part of the resort’s ambitious transformation, set to make Disneyland Paris an even bigger destination in the years to come, join us as we count down the top four events happening in 2023.
1. Avengers: Power the Night
Already winning top marks from Disney fans around the world, the brand-new “Avengers: Power the Night” nighttime drone show lights up the sky nightly at Walt Disney Studios Park, but only till 8th May 2023. This worldwide exclusive, billed by Disney as the very first nighttime drone show performed daily and dedicated to Marvel Super Heroes, combines music, lights, pyrotechnics, huge projections and 500 drones that form an awe-inspiring series of icons representing the powers of iconic Super Heroes, including Captain America, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch and for the first time at Disneyland Paris, Shang-Chi.
You won’t want to miss this truly Parisian exclusive.
2. The return of ‘Disney Dreams’
For the Grand Finale of the resort’s 30th Anniversary celebration, the incredible “Disney Dreams!” nighttime spectacular, which has long-been the best fireworks show since the opening of the resort, will make its big comeback. Beginning 12th April 2023, “Disney Dreams!” will dazzle guests each night at Disneyland Park by taking them on a magical and emotional journey with Peter and Wendy from the beloved Disney classic, Peter Pan.
Also, just for the anniversary celebrations a charming pre-show “Disney D-Light” creates a magical surprise above Sleeping Beauty Castle. It also features one of two 30th Anniversary songs, “Une Monde Qui S’Illuminé.’ Spend even a moment on TikTok to see how this celebration song has become a viral sensation among European Disney fans.
3. ‘It’s a small world’ reopening
After being closed for long-term refurbishment, the ‘happiest cruise that ever sailed’ will reopen very soon. For almost 60 years, this beloved attraction has enchanted guests around the world, with the Disneyland Paris version being loved since opening in 1992. The long-awaited refurbishment work contributed to reviving the highly colourful appearance of its outdoor façade and allowed for several technical upgrades. Guests of all ages can set sail from Spring 2023.
4. “Pixar: We Belong Together” – beginning Summer 2023
In Summer 2023, a brand-new show called “Pixar: We Belong Together” will await Walt Disney Studios Park’s guests, who will be invited to take part in a musical adventure at Studio Theater alongside their favourite Pixar pals. Walt Disney Studios park has a long tradition of staging impressive theatrical shows in its two Studio theatres, flanking the parks classic entrance. During this show, which will combine state-of-the-art stage technology, lighting effects, choreography and iconic songs, guests will find out how music and friendship brings us together.
5. Dream and Shine Brighter
We simply love this Disneyland Paris hub show called Dream and Shine Brighter, featuring the electric and catchy soundtrack ‘Ready for the Ride.’ Disneyland Paris has long put on some of the best central plaza shows, taking place during the daytime in front of the castle. This years show may be the best yet – with incredible dancing and high energy character moments. You’ll be singing ‘Ready for the Ride‘ all the way home after your visit.
